Premier Mapping - Photogrammetry Experts

3D Modelling and Visualization are powerful tools for planning and presentation purposes.

Fly-through simulations of your site are a helpful tool to portray data to other departments, management and other decision makers. It can assist in depicting planned future designs of projects such as environmental rehabilitation.

Premier Mapping offers the following services and products:

Statutory Mine Plans (MHSA)

Strict legal requirements are set for Statutory Mine plans in terms of Regulation 17 of the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996.

Pit and Stockpile Volumetric Calculations
Volumetric calculations of Pit and Stockpile Volumes are required for audit purposes and for contractor payment reconciliations – accurate and timely measurements of the material are therefore crucial.

Ground Surveys cannot always be performed safely as the working pit or stockpile yard may be considered dangerous or inaccessible – aerial surveys are performed overhead the stockpile and pit areas.

Topographical Mapping

Topographical maps, Detail maps or Line Drawings are derived from aerial photography for the compilation of elevation data.

Terrain features are mapped in 3D using digital Mapping Workstations. Our Topographical Maps comply with the accuracy standards set for Statutory Mine Plans.

Photogrammetry (3D Mapping)

Photogrammetry is the practice of determining the geometric properties of objects from photographic images.

Specialized mapping equipment (3D digital workstations) coupled with highly skilled and experienced Photogrammetrists delivers a high accuracy photogrammetric mapping product and intelligent DTM (non-automated).

We provide a full 3D mapping service through our digital mapping workstations.

Digital Terrain Model (DTM)

Digital Terrain Models are captured from aerial imagery to accurately reflect the elevation of the survey area and forms the basis of any mine design and planning.

We supply high accuracy DTMs by taking auto-processed  DTMs and further editing the point cloud in 3D. Additional breaklines and spot heights are mapped in 3D by our experienced Photogrammetrists to deliver a survey grade DTM.

Contouring

Contours indicate the elevation of an area on a map to determine the general terrain.

Legal Appointments

We are appointed to a number of mines as the competent person in charge of surveying, mapping and mine plans in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Survey Project Management

Project management for any engineering- or mine survey project.

Data Management

Data management services include data conversion and data integration.

We advise clients on the best way to optimize existing data, identify the need for additional data and plan the survey project to satisfy the identified survey needs. Existing data will be optimized and integrated with new survey data to ensure cost effective mine surveys that satisfy identified survey needs on the mine.

Completed data is “GIS-ready” and can be imported directly into MicroStation, AutoCAD or ModelMaker etc.

CAD Editing & Draughting

Computer aided drawing (CAD) is used to edit captured data into different datasets with specific attributes on a Mine Plan.

Our software suits include:

• MicroStation

• AutoCad

• ModelMaker

GIS Data Acquisition

A Geographical Information System (GIS) captures, analyzes and presents data linked to a location.

3D Modeling and Visualization

3D Modelling and Visualization are powerful tools for planning and presentation purposes.

Fly-through simulations of your site are a helpful tool to portray data to other departments, management and other decision makers. It can assist in depicting planned future designs of projects such as environmental rehabilitation.

Orthophoto

A digital Orthophoto is created from several aerial images to create one geo-referenced image with spatial properties that enables accurate mapping and data collection.
